The World Atlas offers a wide variety of pre-written Lesson Plans to match the Common Core standards. These lessons are each divided into separate activities in order to ensure that students are engaged and learning different sets of skills.

To access these lessons, click on Tools in the left-hand navigation toolbar. Then, select Lesson Plans.  

Here, you will find a list of currently available lesson plans and their intended grade levels. We have lessons for all students from K-12. To select a lesson, click on its title. You will then be redirected to specific details and instructions for students to complete the activities within the lesson plan.

Included with the activities are links to types of maps. For example, if the activity calls for an outline map, a link in blue colored text will be on this screen that, when clicked, opens up an outline map in a separate window. This is to facilitate and expedite the process of starting each activity. 

If you would like to open up the activity information in a Word Document to save it for easier retrieval later, simply click Download in the bottom right-hand corner.
