If your GPS has turned off automatically, your device may be set to Battery Saving mode.

1. Go to Settings (gear icon) on the launch screen
2. Scroll down on the General tab and tap System settings
3. Tap Security & location > Location and choose High Accuracy mode

This is the recommended setting. You may need to connect your device to a power source.
